This book is a hands-on training manual for writing effective letters in international construction practice. Under the FIDIC Yellow Book (2017), every entitlement begins with a valid Notice. A late, missing, or defective Notice can result in the loss of claims, payments, or even termination of the project.
To prevent that, this guide translates 129 Notice obligations into 78 Situation Drills, each with objectives, realistic scenarios, and assignments to draft letters under time and procedural pressure. Its greatest value lies in Chapter 3: a complete library of 266 Sample Letters—meticulously formatted, clause-referenced, and ready for direct adaptation in real projects.
From Variations, Claims, and Suspension to Taking-Over, Defects, and DAAB, the drills and letters cover the full lifecycle of FIDIC contracts (Clauses 1–21). Readers don’t just learn theory—they practice drafting, compare with professional models, and build fluency in enforceable correspondence.
For Contractors, Engineers, Employer’s staff, practitioners, and learners, this is more than a guidebook. It is a complete reference for Notices and letters that work in practice.
