In five and a half hours, the Shining City will burn.
Inside its gleaming walls, Eleanor and her friends are running out of time. They must free the enslaved, expose the regime’s cruelty, and bring down the guards’ defences, all without alerting the Steel Lady to the coming attack. If they fail, innocents will be caught in the firestorm and their own army will be massacred.
They need to drive the guards into the open streets so they’re standing there when fire rains down. Deactivate the dormant robot army before it wakes. And hold their increasingly fractured community together before it tears itself apart.
Outside the walls, William, Matilda, and their allies prepare to strike. They have no idea Eleanor and her friends are inside. When Gracie opens the gates, they’ll attack with extreme prejudice. By the time they realise they have allies behind the walls, it might already be too late.
The plan is reckless.
The odds are terrible.
If they get it wrong, friends will slaughter friends.
When the city’s clocks hit three a.m., the war for the Shining City begins.
Let the City Burn is the explosive twenty-first book in the relentless post-apocalyptic Beyond These Walls saga.
